The Merrick County Treasurer's office is located on the second floor of the courthouse, 1510 18th Street, Suite 204, Central City NE 68826. Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.The Driver's Examiner is at the Courthouse on Fridays from 8:15 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Motorcycle drive tests are by appointment.

  1. Collect all revenues for the County
  2. Disburse collections to proper political subdivisions
  3. Bill and collect all real estate and personal taxes in the County
    1. Taxes for both real estate and personal taxes are due December 31st.
    2. First half is delinquent the following May 1st
      Second half is delinquent the following September 1st
  4. Register all motor vehicles with tax situs in the County
  5. Issue boat registrations for persons residing in the County
  6. Issue snowmobile registrations
  7. Local Motor Vehicle Department for Titling and Lien filing for vehicles
