2025-2026 Budget Notice and Summary
NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX INCREASES
Public notice is hereby given, in compliance with the provisions of Neb. Rev. Stat 5 77- 1633, that a representative of the following political subdivision will meet on the 22nd day of September, 2025 at 6:00 p.m., at the Central City Performing Arts Center, 2810 17th Avenue, Central City, NE 68826 for the purpose of conducting public input on property tax increases proposed by the following subdivision:
Merrick County, 308-946-2881, property tax requested: $6,243,806.02 Said meeting is open to the public. Accommodations for the disabled are available upon request. Please contact the Merrick County Clerk at 308/946-2881 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting if accommodations are required.
There is no item on the agenda for this joint public meeting other than discussion of the political subdivision’s intent to increase its property tax request by a percentage greater than the “allowable growth percentage” defined in 5 77-1633.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETINGS
Notice is hereby given that meetings of the Merrick County Board of Equalization and Merrick County Board of Supervisors will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 in the County Board Meeting Room, Merrick County Courthouse, Central City, Nebraska. The County Board of Equalization meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. The Board of Supervisors meeting will begin at 9:05 a.m. Meetings are open to the public. Agendas for such meetings are kept continuously current and are available for public inspection at the office of the County Clerk in the Merrick County Courthouse during normal business hours.

Notice is hereby given that Merrick County’s annual audit, including financial statements and supplemental data for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024 has been completed by the State Auditor’s Office. The report is now on file and available for inspection by the public at the Merrick County Clerk’s Office and the Nebraska Auditor of Public Accounts Office.
