Notice of 2022-2023 Budget Hearing - September 27, 2022

 

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETINGS OF THE MERRICK COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION AND MERRICK COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

Notice is hereby given that meetings of the Merrick County Board of Equalization and Merrick County Board of Supervisors will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 in the County Board Meeting Room, Merrick County Courthouse, Central City, Nebraska. The County Board of Equalization meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m.  The Board of Supervisors meeting will begin at 9:05 a.m.  Both meetings are open to the public.  Agendas for such meetings are kept continuously current and are available for public inspection at the office of the County Clerk in the Merrick County Courthouse during normal business hours.

Notice is hereby given that Merrick County’s annual audit, including financial statements and supplemental data for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2021 has been completed by the State Auditor’s Office. The report is now on file and available for inspection by the public at the Merrick County Clerk’s Office and the Nebraska Auditor of Public Accounts Office.

COUNTY ATTORNEY

Merrick County Attorney’s Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Interim County Attorney to fill the remainder of the unexpired term of office. This position involves handling traffic, criminal and juvenile prosecution, civil litigation, child support, inheritance tax review, insufficient fund checks, and juvenile diversion/truancy prevention. Requirements: Graduation from an accredited law school, member of the Nebraska State Bar with at least two years practice experience, a resident of the State of Nebraska, and good written and verbal communication skills. Criminal prosecution experience with prior governmental service/work and civil practice experience a plus. Salary $107,200.00 per year. Benefits package includes retirement and health insurance. COUNTY SURVEYOR
The Merrick County Board is currently accepting applications for the position of County Surveyor.  This position involves fulfilling all the statutory responsibilities described and defined in Nebraska statutes for the office of the County Surveyor and may be either a part-time or full-time basis as determined by the County Supervisors.  This position shall remain in effect until the next duly elected County Surveyor takes office. Requirements: Any person who is a competent registered land surveyor who is registered pursuant to the Land Surveyors Regulation Act, whether or not a resident of the county.  Salary negotiable but shall not be subject to Neb. Rev. Stat. Section 33-116. Benefits package includes retirement and health insurance. Dental insurance and vision insurance available at employee’s expense. CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT WORKER ( Part-time )
Needed: Part-time Child Support Enforcement Worker - Assists County Attorney in reviewing child support matters, answering client phone calls and correspondence, and drafting legal documents for Court. 30 hours per week; flexible schedule. Pay negotiable based on experience. Basic office experience required, knowledge of legal procedures and terminology helpful. Experience with CHARTS software a plus. Position will be opened until filled.
