Public notice is hereby given that Board of Supervisors of The County of Merrick, in the State of Nebraska, (the “County”) will hold a public hearing in the Board of Supervisors meeting room at the Merrick County Courthouse, 1510 18th Street, Central City, Nebraska, on September 22, 2020, commencing at 10:00 a.m., regarding the proposed issuance by the County of its revenue bond (Merrick Medical Center Project) in a principal amount of not to exceed $10,000,000 (the “Bonds”) for the benefit of Merrick Medical Center, a Nebraska nonprofit corporation (the “Borrower”).

The proceeds of the Bond will be loaned by the County pursuant to Sections 13-1101 to 13-1110, inclusive, Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska, as amended (the “Act”) in furtherance of the purposes of the Act, to the Borrower to finance the costs of acquiring, constructing, equipping, and furnishing facilities for a new medical center (the “Project”).  The Project will be owned and operated by Merrick Medical Center and will be located proximate to the intersection of 15th Road and 28th Street, in Central City, Nebraska.

The hearing will be open to the public. All interested persons may attend the hearing and will have an opportunity to express their views with respect to the Project and the issuance of Bonds.  Written comments with respect to the Project may also be submitted to the undersigned prior to the hearing.

The bonds shall never constitute an indebtedness of the County within the meaning of any state constitutional provision or statutory limitation, shall never constitute nor give rise to a pecuniary liability of the County or a charge against its general credit or taxing powers, and no tax funds will ever be used to pay any part thereof, such Bonds and the interest thereon to be payable solely from the revenues derived by the County from repayment of the loan to the Borrower.

Notice is hereby given that meetings of the Merrick County Board of Equalization and Merrick County Board of Supervisors will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 in the County Board Meeting Room, Merrick County Courthouse, Central City, Nebraska.  The Board of Supervisors meeting will begin at 9:05 a.m.  The County Board of Equalization meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m.  Both meetings are open to the public.  Agendas for such meetings are kept continuously current and are available for public inspection at the office of the County Clerk in the Merrick County courthouse during normal business hours.

100% of donations will be sent to the Central Nebraska Community Action Partnership for distribution to those in need.
